Marianna Geraci is beeldend kunstenaar, dichter en singer songwriter. Van jongs af aan schrijft, fotografeert en tekent zij, en maakt zij muziek. In haar kunst onderzoekt zij op eigenzinnige wijze universele thema’s als liefde, zelfontdekking en zelfbeschikking, vrijheid en de kracht van transformatie.
Deze onderwerpen komen aan bod in haar eerdere poëzie uitgaves, de muziek onder haar muzieknaam POETRY GIRL en in haar beeldend werk.
Ook is de natuur in haar schoonheid en vormen een geliefde inspiratiebron.
Het werk van Marianna Geraci kenmerkt zich door een etherische melancholie met een rauw en schurend randje, waarin je wordt opgetild naar een andere, diep verstilde wereld van beeld en gevoel.
Zij studeerde autonome kunst en kunstzinnige therapie. Ook is zij werkzaam in de zorg en als visual thinking strategies (VTS) facilitator.
De combinatie van woord en beeld is voor haar altijd een krachtige geweest. Eerst in de vorm van fotografie/ tekenen met tekst en poëzie. Van 2005 tot 2010 publiceerde zij meerdere door haar geïllustreerde dichtbundels en trad op met haar poëzie.
Later kwam daar ook geluid en film bij in de muziek van POETRY GIRL, de naam waaronder Marianna Geraci sinds 2016 haar thematische muziekprojecten uitbrengt, die een versmelting zijn van muziek, poëzie, beeld en film.
Vanuit de fotostudio in haar huis maakt zij portretten van mensen en van vormen uit de natuur. Ook werkt zij op locatie. Daarnaast illustreert en schildert zij.
Zij woont en werkt in Breda.
Marianna Geraci is a visual artist (photography and artwork), poet and singer- songwriter. In her art she uniquely explores universal themes such as love, self-discovery and self-determination, freedom and the power of transformation. Also nature is its beauty and shapes is a profound source of inspiration.
Her work is characterized by an ethereal melancholy with a raw and abrasive edge, in which you are lifted to another, deeply tranquil world of image and feeling. She studied art and art therapy.
At VTS Netherlands she became a certicified VTS (Visual Thinking Strategies) facilitator.
The combination of text and image has always been a powerful one for her. At first in the form of photography/ drawings with text and poems. From 2005 to 2010 she published several collections of poetry illustrated by her and also performed her poetry.
Later on film and artwork were added to the music of POETRY GIRL, the name under which Marianna Geraci has been releasing her thematic musicprojects since 2016, which are a fusion of music, poetry, image and film.
From the photo studio in her home she makes portraits of people and shapes from nature. She also works on location.
She also illustrates and paints.
She lives and works in Breda, Netherlands.
