POETRY GIRL is de naam waaronder singer songwriter Marianna Geraci (vocals, piano, accordeon, tekst en muziek) haar eigenzinnige, gevoelvolle muziek uitbrengt. Muziek die aan je ziel krabt. Die een sluier oplicht naar een andere wereld; dromerig surreëel en melancholisch, met een rauw en schurend randje.
Van jongs af aan heeft zij zich ontwikkeld tot een kunstenaar die geluid, tekst en beeld samenbrengt in werk dat het midden houdt tussen poëtische, muzikale schetsen, singer songwriterwerk en experimentele muziek. Naast de veelal eigen composities werkt zij ook met eigen, nieuwe bewerkingen van folksongs.
Voor live optredens werkt zij samen met celliste Hella Magyar.
POETRY GIRL : the name under which singer songwriter and artist Marianna Geraci (vocals, piano, accordion, lyrics, music & film) has been releasing her thematic musicprojects since 2016, which are a fusion of music, poetry, image and film.
The music of POETRY GIRL scratches your soul, lifts a veil to another world, dreamy surreal and melancholic, with a raw and abrasive edge. Marianna Geraci's work stands in the middle of poetic, musical sketches, singer-songwriter work and experimental music.
For live perfomances she works with cellist Hella Magyar.
POETRY GIRL writes and performs her own music, as well as traditional folksongs in a new way.

The Prophet Songs is a remake of a cd I made with Jules Chanson, back in 2000.
In the last few years we have revisited and re-recorded these songs.

Rocket (2020)
The video for POETRY GIRL's Rocket was made by students from Buas (Breda University for Applied Science) and was on the 2020 Mestmag list of cultural initiatives in times of corona. Mestmag is the official cultural platform of North- Brabant, Netherlands.
